Sunday Funday

This Sunday I spent the day with two of my favorite girls. We grabbed some lunch and spent the majority of the day shopping around. It was such a relaxing day with good company. There is something about girl time that makes my heart smile. Every time I leave, I feel like a better person than I was going into it. My head is always a little clearer and my motives for life a little better. It’s days like yesterday that remind my why I joined a sorority in the first place <3

Military

Today I rocked my military grunge inspired outfit. I love this jacket and I keep trying to find new ways to wear it. I already know it’s going to be my staple piece this year. Any other ideas on how to wear it?

Feeling Spooky.

Halloween came and went really fast this year. I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite holiday, but it’s definitely up there. There’s something about having an excuse to dress up and eat way too much candy that makes me really excited. Throughout the year I always come up with really unique costumes but I never write them down and by the time Halloween comes they are long gone.  This year I’m happy to say that I didn’t have to pick out my costume. Jon and I always wear some sort of couple-ly costume and this time he picked it out. It makes more sense if you’ve seen the movie Super Troopers, but I hope you get it anyways.

“Ohhhh….you meant Biker!”

^^ Me and the best. She was Carmen Sandiego!

Prepared.

This week is about to be crazy, but I’m ready (I think). With the sale and halloween coming, I’m preparing myself for a week full of comfy fall outfits, little to no sleep, and lots of sugar. Bring it on!

Frankenstein

Tonight I am going to see Young Frankenstein with my family and hubs at a little theater called The Vine. Ever since I was younger my family has watched it and its grown to be a love-hate kindof movie. It’s a classic that I enjoy once every three years…maybe. But I must admit, listening to my mom say “Put the candle back!” in her best crazed voice always makes me laugh.

On top of going to the theater, I’m also carving my pumpkin tonight. I’m well aware it won’t make it to Halloween but who cares. No one ever times it right anyways.

Date night.

Friday night the boy and I decided to have a spontaneous night in the city. We ended up in North beach (aka little Italy) because neither of us had ever eaten there. We spent the evening walking up and down the streets all bundled and cuddled with each other; I love spending evenings with absolutely no agenda. We ended up at this AMAZING quirky restaurant called Calzones. We split a bottle of wine and some appetizers and laughed our butts off as we people watched. The restaurant had this cool little outside seating area that they decked out with heat lamps. It was refreshing to sit outside in the brisk air and you could really tell fall made its grand appearance in the city. I’m hoping to go back to little italy soon- there are so many fun places to experience!

I spy something tasty

My best friend is doing this paleo diet thing- it’s more of a life style change really. You pretty much eat all hunter-gatherer like. Although I think it’s an awesome way to go, I’m not quite sure I could ever commit to it. The best part about her being on the diet is that I get to  eat all the tasty foods she makes. I spent some time with her this week and we made pumpkin banana blueberry chocolate chip bread- all with paleo ingredients. Talk about tasty bread! I was a little hesitant but it turned out awesome. It had all of my favorite things- plus I probably added way more dark chocolate chips than necessary but I couldn’t help it!
I highly suggest going paleo if your willing to make the commitment!

Bridge School.

This is the second year in a row that I went to the Bridge School Benefit concert. The concert is an annual, all acoustic, non-profit charity event that donates all its’ proceeds to The Bridge School which helps children with physical and mental impairments. It’s always a great line up and it’s a cool environment because there is such a wide age range of people there. This year I only went for a little bit, but I enjoyed laying out with good friends and good music.

Cham-brainy

I’m really looking forward to the next couple of months. Although I’ve always dreaded the winter, this year it’s coming and i’m ready to embrace it. While going through my closet, I realized I have over a dozen scarves that I have been ignoring. I think it’s time to bust those babies out.

Iv’e also decided that I hate most things in my closet. I know, I knowwww. I probably have enough outfits to clothe a small country so how in the world could I hate most of them?! But, it’s possible. I’d like to think I’m somewhat of a fashion guru at times, but I’ve realized most of my styling epiphanies come when i’m digging through other people’s closets. This is a time when I call for help from my trusty BFF. A second opinion is sometimes crucial.

Speaking of, a UPS man did a drop and run today on my front door step. I squealed like a pig of course.  I ordered these super awesome flats from Jeffery Campbell that I actually found while browsing on Pinterest. I put them on and paraded around the house (obvi) and to my astonishment, my mom told me they were the ugliest thing she has ever seen. AS IF! My heart broke a little. But now that she mentioned it, I can’t help but rethink my love for the flats. Maybe they are ugly? I’ll post a picture soon.
